How it works

Trace from screen to paper

Use your phone as a lightbox by following these five steps. The drawing remains visible on the screen while you copy its lines onto paper.

  1. Choose a clear drawing

Open a simple line drawing in iDrawing and keep it visible on the screen.

  2. Prepare the phone lightbox

Place the phone face-up on a clean, dry, steady surface. Raise brightness only until the lines show through.

  3. Position the paper

Lay one sheet of lightweight white paper over the display. Align it with the drawing and hold the edges steady.

  4. Trace the visible lines

Use a pencil with very light pressure. Follow the lines without pressing hard on the screen.

  5. Finish away from the phone

Lift the paper off the phone before erasing, darkening lines, colouring, or adding your own details.
